The disagreements between Moscow and Kiev on the territorial issue are limited to a few kilometers. This was stated on April 12 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Vesti news agency Pavel Zarubin.

"No, it's really just a few kilometers, <...> roughly speaking, there are 18-17% of the Donetsk People's Republic that we have left to liberate, and this will mean reaching the administrative borders," Peskov said.

He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about this more than a year ago. Russian troops are successfully advancing in the area of a special military operation.

Peskov also said that Russia is striving for sustainable peace, which could come today if Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky decides to withdraw troops from Donbass. The conflict will continue after the Easter truce, until the Ukrainian authorities gather the courage to conclude an agreement.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on April 10 that the conflict in Ukraine cannot be overcome without security guarantees for the Russian Federation. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added that the Ukrainian leadership "did not give a damn" both on the requirements of the EU and on its own Constitution. According to Lavrov, this is "obvious to everyone."
