The Holy Fire was delivered to the Kronstadt St. Nicholas Marine Stavropol Cathedral, where it will be distributed to parishioners for Easter prayers to the risen Lord. This was announced on April 12 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"A piece of fire was carefully delivered to the cathedral, where the flame will be distributed to all parishioners for Easter prayers to the risen Lord," TASS quoted the ministry as saying.

It is specified that the fire was brought on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral of the Fleet Alexander Moiseev. Rear Admiral Vladislav Pavlov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy for Military and Political Work, received the fire. On the eve of Easter, representatives of the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation received a blessing and attended the descent of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

On April 11, the Holy Fire descended in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The ceremony took place on Holy Saturday. Before that, prayer processions took place in the temple, and the Kuvuklia, the chapel above the Lord's bed, was searched for fire sources and sealed.

Easter cakes were consecrated in the Sretensky and Donskoy monasteries of Moscow on April 11. Parishioners gathered at the temples with cakes and colored eggs.
