As a result of an accident involving a bus in the Sakhalin region, 16 people were injured. This was announced on April 12 by the press service of the regional state traffic inspectorate.
"As a result of the accident, 12 bus passengers received one—time medical care, four passengers with injuries of varying severity were hospitalized in medical institutions," the Telegram channel said.
The accident occurred in the area of the 307th km of the Nevelsk–Tomari– Shakhtersk airport highway. According to the press service, the 22-year-old driver of a FAW cargo vehicle drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a PAZ bus.
It is specified that traffic police officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
On April 10, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that 214 road accidents had occurred on Russian roads over the past day, in which 26 people were killed and 243 injured. 19 of the dead were drivers and passengers.
