Fuel theft from gas stations has become more frequent in the UK amid rising fuel prices due to the conflict in the Middle East. This was reported on April 10 by The Times newspaper with reference to the owners of the gas station and the managing director of the Forecourt Eye platform, which collects fuel debts, Michelle Henchoz.

"When someone steals fuel, you would think you should imagine what they look like, but it's not what you think. They drive supercars. <...> A Mercedes AMG GT pulled up to us yesterday, and they left one of our gas stations without paying. I checked the price of the car online. It was huge. I thought, how could they leave?" — Henchoz said in an interview with the newspaper.

She noted that even the fuel crisis of 2022 was not so serious. According to about 500 British gas stations, the volume of daily thefts has increased by 27% since the beginning of the conflict in Iran. Thus, every week the British steal fuel worth more than £ 1.2 million.

The Times reported on March 10 that the UK recorded the fastest growth rate in gasoline prices in four years due to the conflict in the Middle East. It was noted that the prices of unleaded gasoline at gas stations increased by an average of 6.12%.
