IRIB: Iran considers the US demands in the negotiations excessive
Iran still considers the United States' requests for dialogue to be "exorbitant." This was reported on April 12 by the Iranian state television and radio company IRIB.
According to the source of the TV and radio company, the delegation of the Islamic Republic insists on its requirements and conditions in order to consolidate the successes achieved during the fighting. Negotiations between the parties are taking place in Islamabad. Two rounds of meetings were held yesterday, and a third is scheduled today. It is not specified exactly what requirements are in question.
"Two rounds of negotiations have taken place between the delegations, and the third round is scheduled for tonight," the message on the IRIB Telegram channel added.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced the official start of negotiations. According to him, it will soon become clear to the American side whether Tehran is being frank in the negotiations. As the US president pointed out, it "won't take long." In addition, the American leader called Iran a "failed country."
Later, he said that the United States would resume attacks on Iran in the event of a failure of negotiations in Islamabad on the settlement of the war. In a conversation with Newsmax reporter Kelly Mayer, he noted that he did not know how today's consultations with Tehran would end. When asked by a reporter if the US president had any hope, Trump declared his readiness to "act."
