Peskov questioned Callas' intellectual abilities
The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, would not have been able to defend her diploma at Moscow State University (MSU). This was announced on April 11 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
"She would not have been able to defend her diploma [at Moscow State University]," Peskov said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a journalist at the Vesti news agency.
He also said that he could not imagine Callas being a graduate of Moscow State University.
Peskov said on April 5 that Callas should no longer speak out on the subject of history. According to the press secretary of the Russian president, such statements reflect the level of qualifications of the head of the European diplomacy.
He pointed out that Callas should have made "a small positive contribution to the cause of repairing what they had broken."
On April 1, Kallas reported that Russia had allegedly attacked at least 19 countries over the past 100 years, not counting African states. At the same time, the politician did not say which states she was referring to.
At the same time, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zakharova, said that Callas' words showed gaps in the knowledge of the school curriculum. According to her, the local court had previously ordered the diplomat to withdraw public statements that were deemed factually unreliable.
