Sobyanin spoke about the development of the pre-professional education system
Most metropolitan schools (over 70%) have pre-professional classes. Almost all of their graduates go to universities in their field of study, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in the MAX messenger.
There are currently six training areas available: information technology, medicine, engineering, media, entrepreneurship, psychology, and pedagogy. Last year, more than 40,000 high school students attended pre-professional classes. So that the children could devote more time to practice, the schools were equipped with the latest laboratory complexes and computer equipment, Sobyanin stressed. Students can conduct research, set up experiments and engage in scientific research.
In addition, urban math, science, and technology courses for grades 1-6 have been launched in schools this academic year. Over 400,000 primary school students attend an additional mathematics course to develop logical thinking and skills in solving non-standard problems. 28,000 students in grades 5-6 study mathematics in depth.
In addition, Moscow schools have a system of educational verticals for students in grades 7-9. Students can study specialized subjects in natural sciences and prepare for admission. The project is being implemented in partnership with universities.
