Indonesia's Foreign Ministry confirms Subianto's visit to Russia next week
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is preparing for a state visit to Russia, where he is scheduled to hold talks with President Vladimir Putin, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono said on April 11.
According to the head of the department, in Moscow, the Indonesian leader will discuss issues of strategic importance to the state.
"He will meet with President Putin and discuss global geopolitics and the energy situation," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The visit was also confirmed by the Cabinet Secretary, Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Vijaya. He noted that the exact schedule and details of the trip are still awaiting an official announcement.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on April 9 that preparations were underway in Moscow for the upcoming visit of the Indonesian president. Peskov confirmed that contacts with Subianto should take place as early as next week.
