Israel has stated that there is no intention to discuss a truce with Hezbollah.
The Israeli side will not discuss the possibility of a truce with the Hezbollah movement during negotiations with Lebanon. This was announced on April 11 by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Lightyear.
"Israel refused to discuss a cease—fire with the terrorist organization Hezbollah," The Times of Israel newspaper quoted Lightyear as saying.
According to the ambassador, Hezbollah is an "obstacle to peace" between Israel and Lebanon.
Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian said on April 9 that Israeli strikes on Lebanon violate the ceasefire agreement. He called it a dangerous sign of deception and lack of commitment to potential agreements.
The Axios portal reported on April 11 that the Lebanese and American sides are asking Israel to stop attacks on Hezbollah formations before the start of negotiations between Tel Aviv and Beirut. Some Israeli officials agreed with the proposal because a pause in the strikes would be "in the best interests" of Israel.
