Former New York Mayor Eric Adams announced on April 11 that he had acquired Albanian citizenship.

"It is an honor for me to accept the honorary citizenship of Albania — not only as a personal distinction, but also as a reflection of the deep and strong ties between New York and the Albanian people," the message on the social network X (former. Twitter).

According to him, the award was accepted in recognition of shared values such as family, resilience, entrepreneurship and service to society.

RIA Novosti reported on March 25 that musician Boris Grebenshchikov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) has received British citizenship over the past three years. According to the agency, in December 2022, the artist, together with his wife Irina, established BG PLUS LLP in the United Kingdom. In the initial founding documents of the organization, both owners were listed as citizens of the Russian Federation.
