Soldiers of the 1st separate sabotage and reconnaissance assault brigade "Wolves" of the Volunteer Corps of the Southern Group of Forces baked and consecrated Easter cakes, and also presented state awards. This was announced on April 11 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Military chefs prepared festive pastries in the field kitchen, and Archimandrite Makariy (Lyubavtsev), rector of the Lugansk Church in honor of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky, came to consecrate the cakes and spiritually support the soldiers.
On the same day, the soldiers who distinguished themselves on the front line were awarded state awards in a solemn atmosphere. The volunteers who had previously been on the line of contact received medals "Suvorov", "Zhukov" and "For the rescue of the dead."
The awarded state awards were also given vacations so that they could celebrate Easter with their relatives and friends.
On April 10, the Ministry of Defense reported that on the eve of Easter, bakers from the logistics support units of the Center group of forces organized the baking of festive cakes for military personnel performing tasks both on the front line and in the rear areas in the special military operation zone. Production was organized at field bakeries deployed near the line of contact and in the rear.
