Myasnikov spoke about the attitude towards taking statins in the USA

Doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov compared treatment approaches in Russia and the USA. He announced this on April 10 on the program "About the most important thing" on the channel "Russia 1".

According to the expert, in the United States, doctors do not persuade patients who refuse to take statins, as is customary in Russia.

"It's tough in the American way. <...> Either you drink or you die. Either you're drinking or you're an idiot. Either you drink, or it paralyzes you," Myasnikov said.

At the same time, the doctor emphasized that statins are necessary for people with high cholesterol levels. Refusal of these drugs can lead to stroke or vascular dementia.

Injections complement standard therapy, forming a comprehensive approach to cancer treatment.

On January 30, Myasnikov warned people who refused statins about the risk of paralysis. The doctor stressed that statins, drugs that lower cholesterol, are prescribed by doctors to prolong the life of patients.
