Peace negotiations with the United States are the key to Iran's survival, and Tehran has no way to change the situation, American leader Donald Trump said on April 10.
"The only reason they're still alive today is to negotiate!" he wrote on the Truth Social network.
The politician added that the Iranians do not understand that their only trump card is "short-term extortion of money from the whole world using international waterways." Thus, they have no other levers of pressure on other countries other than the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
On the same day, Trump clarified that the results of the upcoming U.S.-Iran talks in Pakistan would be clear within 24 hours. At the same time, the head of the White House noted that the American armed forces are already equipping warships with supplies in case negotiations fail.
On the same day, the chairman of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that Iran expects a cease-fire in Lebanon and the unblocking of assets of the Islamic Republic before starting negotiations with the United States.
