Lyudmila Samarskaya, a researcher at the laboratory of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an orientalist, told whether Israel could disrupt the truce between the United States and Iran.

In an interview with the News Mail on Friday, April 10, the expert noted that the activation of Israel in Lebanon could provoke a breakdown in the truce between the United States and Iran if Tehran perceives this as a reason for escalation. So far, such a scenario is unlikely, but it cannot be ruled out in the future.

Ahead of the US-Iran talks scheduled for April 11, Washington, according to media reports, tried to convince Israel to reduce the intensity of attacks, fearing that the situation around Lebanon could disrupt the agreements. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear that the truce does not apply to the Lebanese direction, and operations against the Shiite Hezbollah group will continue to ensure the country's security, given the group's proximity to the borders of Israel.

Samarskaya added that potential direct talks between Israel and Lebanon could lead to at least a temporary pause in hostilities, and such contacts are already being discussed.

Earlier on April 10, Iran threatened to interrupt negotiations with the United States in case of new attacks on Lebanon. It is clarified that the Iranian delegation postponed its flight to Islamabad several times due to the fact that the attacks on Lebanon did not stop. 360.ru .

CNN reported on April 9 that the Israeli leadership was not enthusiastic about the start of the negotiation process between the United States and Iran, as the Israeli military believes that many goals have not yet been achieved, writes NSN.

On April 8, it was reported that Israel could pay a high price for US President Donald Trump's two-week truce with Iran. Washington is actually releasing Israel from its promise to launch a powerful strike against Iran, the website notes. kp.ru . It is specified that by the time the truce was established, Israel had just begun the first phase of the offensive against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. At the same time, despite the position of the American leader, the group continues to operate and fire rockets at Israel, writes Regnum news agency.

At the same time, Tuomas Malinen, a professor at the University of Helsinki, called the US truce with Iran Trump's capitulation, RT reports.
