On Easter, believers can ask God for anything, just like at any other time. This was reported to Izvestia by the head of the Youth Department of the Stavropol Diocese, Priest Alvian Tkhelidze. However, during the festive period, the commemoration of the deceased ceases.

"In order not to overshadow the Easter joy, we focus only on festive, positive, joyful things. And then there will be a time when we will pray for our dead," said Tkhelidze.

At the same time, Vladislav Beregovoy, head of the missionary department of the Pesochenskaya diocese, warned believers against turning Easter into a holiday of "pastry chefs and cooks," as it often happens.

"I want to remind the faithful that the Bright Resurrection of Christ is a celebration of Christians who celebrate the victory of Christ over death, over the devil at a difficult, heavy, painful cost. And that during Holy Week you should not be at the stove, but at the cross, at the shroud, at the divine service. And on Easter day, not just to eat your cakes to the brim, but to really come to the night service and touch this great mystery of the Resurrection of Christ. Go through a Religious procession and receive communion at this service, if, of course, you prepare for it," the priest said.
