Iran is awaiting a cease-fire in Lebanon and the unblocking of the Islamic Republic's assets before starting negotiations with the United States. This was announced by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on April 10.

"Two of the measures mutually agreed upon by the parties have not yet been implemented: a cease—fire in Lebanon and the unblocking of Iranian assets before the start of negotiations," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

He stressed that these two conditions must be fulfilled before the start of negotiations.

On the same day, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said that the US delegation was going to Pakistan for talks on Iran with clear instructions from the American president. He also added that the United States is looking forward to the talks.

On April 10, Press TV said that the Iranian authorities had postponed a trip to the Pakistani capital several times for talks with the United States in connection with the Israeli attacks on Lebanon. The publication noted that pressure from Tehran forced Israel to stop attacks on the Lebanese capital Beirut, however, if the attacks resume, Iran's negotiations on ending the conflict with the United States will be canceled altogether.
