The Russian Ministry of Justice has included philologist Ivan Tolstoy in the register of foreign agents.

On April 10, the Russian Ministry of Justice added Ivan Tolstoy, a philologist, journalist and grandson of writer Alexei Tolstoy, to the register of foreign agents. The relevant information was published on the official website of the department.

"[Ivan Tolstoy] disseminated false information about decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies, and opposed a special military operation in Ukraine," the document says.

Roman Udot, Vasily Matenov, Rizvan Kubakaev, Lilia Vezhevatova and the Tatar Shurasy project ("Council of Tatars of the World") were also included in the register.

On March 27, the Ministry of Justice added journalist Skorikova and film director Talankin to the register of foreign agents. It is clarified that Skorikova participated in the creation of materials by foreign agents, disseminated false information about the decisions of the Russian authorities and opposed the special military operation (SVO).
