VTB Bank summed up the voting results on the choice of the name of the third kitten of the Far Eastern leopard from the family of the cat Gerda, who lives in the national park "Land of the Leopard". According to the voting results of the audience of social networks and participants of the Data Fusion 2026 conference, the name Fusion won. More than 4.2 thousand people took part in the final stage. This was reported by the VTB press service.

"For several years now, we have been participating in projects to restore the population of the Far Eastern leopard. Choosing a name for each kitten from the family of Far Eastern leopards is one of the ways to draw attention to the rarest large wild cats of the planet that live in Primorye. The name Fusion means fusion, unification and is very suitable for a kitten. It reflects the key principle of modern environmental protection, which VTB supports: the synergy of technology, science and business for the sake of biodiversity conservation," commented Natalia Kochneva, Senior Vice President of VTB.

"Every new kitten of the Far Eastern leopard is a sign that the population is preserved, stable, regaining lost territories. It is especially important that together with a partner like VTB, we can not only protect these rare animals, but also share this story with the whole country through the tradition of giving them names that become part of their destiny. Being named a leopard symbolizes caring and a special attitude towards nature," said Viktor Bardyuk, Director of the Land of the Leopard Federal State Budgetary Institution.

Far Eastern leopards lead a secretive lifestyle and rarely come out to humans, so scientists have not been able to determine the sex of the animal for a long time. It was possible to establish that it was a male using a camera trap. It is noted that the animal looks healthy and has no problems getting food.

The voting took place from April 7-9. Five options were offered to choose from — Dion, Fusion, Verne, Cosmic and Prometheus, reflecting the connection between nature, science and technology.
