Residents of Vladikavkaz told about the explosion at the pyrotechnics warehouse

The moment of the explosion at the pyrotechnics warehouse in Vladikavkaz was felt by local residents. One of the eyewitnesses of the incident told Izvestia on April 10 that the exploded building was located in the immediate vicinity of the private sector.

"There was a very loud explosion, it felt like a house was falling. I went out and saw a large cloud of smoke, and fireworks went off from the place where it exploded," a local resident said.

According to another man, windows were blown out in some apartments as a result of the incident.

"Our chandeliers fell because of the explosion, and all the walls were shaking very violently," he explained.

A man working nearby noted that at the time of the explosion, windows flew out at a nearby warehouse. Together with his colleagues, he helped to pull victims out of the rubble.

"The bricks were thrown back, the victims were pulled out. There was a burned man on the second floor, standing in shock, his body completely burned, and he didn't understand anything. They took him down to the ambulance on a stretcher," the man shared.

The regional directorate of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia added that an investigation has begun into the explosion at a pyrotechnic warehouse in Vladikavkaz.

Later, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that rescuers had recovered the bodies of two victims from the rubble at the warehouse. The head of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo, noted that the lives of the children injured in the explosion were not in danger, and four more of the victims were in serious condition.
