In Chelyabinsk, the educational project "My First Belt" was launched at Gymnasium No. 1, in which first grade students learn judo. Students learn the basic elements of wrestling in physical education classes.

According to the <url> news agency, the initiative is being implemented by the Denis Yartsev Judo Center. He is supported by the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant and the Russian Judo Federation.

According to Denis Yartsev, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in judo, winner of the World and European Championships, it is important that children get the right idea of sports from an early age. Judo is a whole system of values that helps to shape character. Through such projects, children get the opportunity to try themselves, learn basic things and, perhaps, take the first step into big-time sports.

Professional coaches in physical education classes introduce students to the basic elements of judo. For two months, the children will learn discipline, safe behavior, coordination, teamwork and respect for the coach. At the end, they will have a final exam, according to the results of which the students will be awarded their first belt, a white one.

At the end of February, it was reported that boxing classes would begin in schools in the Irkutsk region. The region's possible participation in the Boxing to School project was discussed by Governor Igor Kobzev and Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Alexander Besputin. The project provides for the practice of this sport in school lessons.
