The revenue of Samsung's Russian subsidiary has tripled in four years and amounted to 3.1 billion rubles. Izvestia learned about this on April 10 by analyzing the data from the Rusprofile counterparty verification service.
According to the service, Samsung SDS Rus LLC, which is the Russian subsidiary of South Korean Samsung, earned 3.1 billion rubles last year, which is 19% less than in 2024. The company's net profit fell by 93% by 2024 and amounted to 12 million rubles. Since 2021, Samsung SDS Rus' revenue has almost tripled, from 8.9 billion to 3.1 billion.
The company was incorporated in Russia in 2013. The founders were the South Korean SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD. with a share of 99.99% in the authorized capital, and the Dutch SAMSUNG SDS GLOBAL ESSENTIAL NETHERLANDS COOPERATIVE Yu.A. with a share of 0.01%.
Samsung has announced the suspension of product shipments to Russia in 2022. The company's plant in the Kaluga Region also stopped working. The company operated under the legal entity Samsung Electronics Rus Kaluga. It is still in operation, but the organization has not submitted financial statements since 2023. Samsung Research Center LLC also continues to operate. Last year, the company showed revenue of 2.7 billion rubles, with a profit of 544 million rubles.
Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Georgy Zinoviev said on April 8 that major South Korean companies, including Samsung, are not yet considering the possibility of returning to the Russian market due to ongoing sanctions. According to the diplomat, in the current conditions, the resumption of work of the Russian assembly plants of these companies is also not being discussed.
The CMWP consulting company reported on March 27 that approximately 13 brands, some of which have already completely shut down their stores, may leave the Russian market in 2026. The monitoring took into account the brands represented in the segment of consumer goods.
