Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to Kiev's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in the Russian Federation, the Russian Armed Forces launched five group strikes against enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel and energy, transport and port infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), military airfields, ammunition depots, assembly and storage sites. and preparations for the launch of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned boats, as well as temporary locations for Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries.

During the week, the Russian army liberated the village of Miropolskoye in the Sumy region and defeated formations of seven mechanized, two motorized infantry, two airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, five air defense brigades, two National Guard brigades and two border guard detachments of the border Service of Ukraine.

In total, the AFU lost more than 1,280 militants, eight armored combat vehicles, 82 vehicles, nine field artillery guns, 11 electronic warfare stations, 64 ammunition depots, fuel and materiel in the area of responsibility of the North group of forces. In addition, Russian troops have established control over the village of Dibrova in the DPR.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. Over the past week, the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, two amphibious assault, two assault brigades, four assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and a defense brigade were defeated. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces amounted to more than 2,020 military personnel," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack drones, missiles and artillery, destroyed four combat vehicles of the Grad multiple launch rocket system and the Raven anti-aircraft missile system.

In turn, air defense systems shot down 54 guided aerial bombs, four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, three Flamingo long-range cruise missiles, six Neptune long-range guided missiles and 2,411 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed four unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a long-range guided missile "Neptun-MD".

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 133,128 UAVs, 654 anti-aircraft missile systems, 28,803 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,698 multiple rocket launchers, 34,382 field artillery and mortars, 59,045 pieces of special vehicles.
