Miroshnik stated Kiev's desire to use the truce for military maneuvers.
Statements by the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, about the preparation of meetings with representatives of Russia and the United States are being made in order to gain a strategic advantage during a "respite." Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for crimes committed by the Kiev regime, said this in an interview with the Vesti news agency on April 10.
"The statements that are pouring out of a cornucopia from the Ukrainian side are predictable and understandable, because Zelensky really needs a truce not for a day and a half, they need a truce in order to use it to gain military advantages <...> That is, in order to use it for their own military purposes. Of course, Russia will not give such gifts to anyone. And Russia will certainly respond to any unfriendly actions towards Ukraine," Miroshnik said.
He stressed that any attempt to use Russia's "humane step" for military purposes in Kiev "will not work" and will be severely suppressed by the Russian army.
On April 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the Easter truce from 16:00 on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12. It was clarified that the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Andrei Belousov, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, were instructed to stop the fighting for the period of the truce.
After the announcement of the Easter truce by the Russian president, the head of the Kiev regime said on April 10 that Kiev was ready for mirror measures. According to him, Ukraine has long offered this opportunity to the world and will act accordingly.
Earlier in the day, Zelensky said he was ready to meet with Putin. He stressed that he was going to hold talks in Moscow or Kiev, but was ready to offer other platforms for dialogue.
