The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent an additional 100 people to the flooded areas of the Republic of Dagestan to eliminate the consequences of the flood. This was announced on April 10 in the press service of the department.
"On behalf of the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, rescuers from the Don Rescue Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, consisting of 100 people and 30 pieces of equipment, were sent to the flooded areas of Dagestan," the message says in the MAX messenger.
According to the agency, rescuers continue to make rounds of private houses and courtyards, help clear territories, deliver food and water, and disinfect areas and social infrastructure affected by flooding.
It is clarified that the assessment of the damage is ongoing.
On April 9, Russian Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov proposed that the situation in Dagestan and Chechnya be classified as a federal emergency. The Minister also ordered the leaders of the republics to ensure that residents are constantly informed about all available support measures. In addition, Kurenkov pointed out the need to develop plans for the restoration of residential and social facilities.

On April 7, the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, announced that an emergency regime had been introduced in 11 municipalities that were most affected by the floods in Dagestan. According to him, 842 significant social facilities were affected by the weather.
