Russian cities with the most well-located hotels are named
Veliky Novgorod and Kazan have the most conveniently located hotels. This is evidenced by a study of the OneTwoTrip online service, which was reviewed by the publication on April 10."Газета.Ru ".
Experts have compiled a rating based on the analysis of about 12 thousand reviews for 2 thousand hotels in the 100 most popular cities of the country among travelers. In the "Best location" category, experts assessed the proportion of reviews in which guests noted proximity to the center or green areas, transport accessibility, parking and views from the windows.
Veliky Novgorod became the leader of the list: in 65% of reviews, guests praise local hotels for their location in the center and proximity to the Volkhov River. Tourists emphasize the walking distance of attractions and the marina. Kazan took the second place with an indicator of 63%. Guests of the capital of Tatarstan appreciate the opportunity to live in the city center, close to the train station and the main pedestrian streets. Petrozavodsk is in third place (59%), where travelers highly appreciated the proximity of the accommodation facilities to the embankment and the railway station.
The fourth position was taken by Suzdal (58%), where the reviews highlight the Kremlin's walking accessibility and the presence of guarded parking lots. Nizhny Novgorod closes the top five (57%). Tourists are attracted here by the proximity of the embankment and the local main pedestrian street with restaurants and shops.
Zelenogradsk (56%), Kostroma (55%), Svetlogorsk (54%), Irkutsk (53%) and Kaliningrad (52%) also entered the top 10 of the rating. In these cities, travelers most often noted the convenience of traveling to the sea, historical centers, train stations, and major points of attraction. This rating was part of a large-scale OneTwoTrip study, which analyzed various accommodation parameters, including the quality of breakfast and staff work.
Inna Ryndina, Commercial Director of the Russian Seasons Hotel group, told Izvestia on April 7 that the decline in demand for travel services in early 2026 was due to rising costs, flight uncertainty and changing consumer behavior. The expert stressed that it is the risks of postponing flights for several days that directly affect the decision to travel.
