- Bali Governor announces liquidation of "Russian" and "Ukrainian" villages on the island
On Bali Island, "Russian" and "Ukrainian" villages were eliminated — areas where the Russian and Ukrainian diasporas lived on the island. This was announced by the Governor and Wayan Koster on April 10.
"More and more people began to come, both from Russia and Ukraine. <...> These tourists began not only to relax, but some began to invest and open businesses. On the other hand, some of them settled in one exclusive area. It was happening in Ubud. Mostly there were Russians, there were Ukrainians, and even the expression "Russian village" appeared. There was also a "Ukrainian village," Koster said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
