British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is trying to shift responsibility for unsuccessful decisions in the energy sector onto third parties. This was announced on April 10 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic cooperation.

"Failing at everything, Starmer, as always, is trying to shift responsibility for his failed energy policy onto others. He is not [Winston] Churchill," he wrote in X (ex. Twitter).

Thus, Dmitriev commented on the news that Starmer had unsubstantiated the responsibility for the sharp increase in the cost of electricity on the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported on April 8 that despite the expected boom in eco-technologies, the escalation in the Middle East is forcing European countries to return to coal. According to the report, the sharp rise in gas prices provoked by the US and Israeli military operation against Iran is pushing Europeans to use coal to provide energy to the economy.
