The attackers are sending messages to Russians, disguising them as notifications about the alleged recalculation of utility bills for electricity. This was reported by RIA Novosti on April 9.

After receiving such notifications, the scammers suggest that they immediately begin processing the recalculation of utility bills.

As part of this scheme, citizens who allegedly have claims or questions about payments are offered to transfer the necessary data as soon as possible, implying the collection of personal information through which attackers gain access to the data of Russian citizens.

On April 8, experts from the Smart Business Alert (SBA) service of the ESA PRO company (part of the Cross Technologies Group of Companies) said that fraudsters began testing a new scheme of deception on behalf of medical organizations. Experts noted that the target audience of the scheme with medical organizations is primarily the elderly, who often visit polyclinics or hospitals, and are also particularly susceptible to the topic of health.
