On April 9, US President Donald Trump announced that Iran was allegedly unsatisfactorily and unfairly fulfilling its obligations to ensure the free transit of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

"Iran [allegedly] copes extremely poorly, and some would say dishonorably, with the task of ensuring the unhindered passage of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. This does not correspond to the agreement we have reached!" the message on the Truth Social network says.
