Frequent forgetfulness can be directly related to overwork, lack of sleep, and chronic stress. This was announced on April 9 by Alexander Kalyuzhin, a lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Medical Disciplines of the State University of Education, Candidate of Medical Sciences.
"From a physiological point of view, forgetfulness is most often associated not with a true decrease in memory, but with a violation of information fixation. Simply put, a person puts down an item, but at that moment does not have time to fully remember this action, because attention is scattered," the expert explained in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».
The expert attributed overwork, lack of sleep, chronic stress, emotional stress and the habit of doing several things at the same time to the most common reasons. These factors lead to a decrease in attention and RAM.
The doctor added that episodes of forgetfulness can occur in healthy people during difficult times.
"However, if this happens more often, begins to interfere with everyday life and work, is accompanied by general absent—mindedness, difficulty choosing words, disorientation, pronounced weakness, it is necessary to consult a specialist and exclude neurological, endocrine and deficiency conditions," Kalyuzhin emphasized.
The candidate of medical Sciences recommended getting enough sleep, reducing the level of stress, giving up incessant multitasking and starting to form habits of "conscious action."
On April 9, Olga Kushnareva, a doctor, shared that eating sweets is not a direct cause of depression, but it can increase anxiety through physiological and behavioral mechanisms. The doctor also noted that cravings for sweets are often associated with an attempt to cope with stress.
