British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has unfairly blamed the sharp rise in electricity costs on the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on April 9.

"I'm tired of families across the country seeing their electricity bills rise and fall, and businesses' electricity bills rise and fall because of <...> Putin or Trump all over the world," the publication quotes Starmer as saying.

According to the newspaper, the British prime minister's statement was made against the background of the upcoming local elections. According to analysts, the vote will not be easy for Starmer, and its outcome will largely determine the internal problems faced by UK residents.
