On April 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law punishing the denial and approval of the genocide of Soviet backgammon during the Great Patriotic War (WWII). The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

According to the initiative, if violated, they face criminal liability of up to five years in prison for denying or approving the fact of the genocide of the Soviet people, as well as for insulting the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Soviet people and desecrating their graves on the territory of the Russian Federation or abroad.
