The Island of Dreams Park presented the results of an interactive survey
The Island of Dreams Amusement Park summed up the results of an interactive survey on the perception of "cosmic" sensations and interest in extraterrestrial flights. The study was conducted from April 2 to April 7 among registered users of the park's official website. 2,854 users aged 18 and over participated in the survey. The majority of respondents were women — 78%, the proportion of men — 22%. The main audience of the study was formed by participants aged 29 to 44 years — they made up 65% of the total number of respondents.
According to the survey results, about half of the respondents (49%) are ready to go into space: answering the corresponding question, they all chose the option "Yes, prepare the rocket." Another 21% would agree to fly with only an instructor, the same number of survey participants would prefer an alternative in the form of "space" rides. Men demonstrate a higher level of readiness for real flight: 66% versus 44% among women. Women are more cautious: they choose flights with an instructor more often than men (24% vs. 11%) and rides (23% vs. 15%).
Young respondents have the highest readiness for flight: in the group of 18-28 years, 69% of men and 55% of women are ready to go into space. Interest also remains high in the age groups of 29-44 and 45-60 years — 65% and 66% of men, as well as 43% and 41% of women choose the appropriate option. In the 61+ group, the proportion of those who prefer "space" experiences in the format of attractions is noticeably increasing: 66% of men choose this option, 48% of women.
When asked what feelings they associate with space, the survey participants most often chose turns (28%), coups (27%) and drive (25%), as well as a sharp start (20%). For women, turns (29%) and coups (27%) are the leaders, while men are more likely to note coups (27%), a sharp start (25%) and a drive (25%).
The key factor making the attraction "cosmic" was the effect of gravity loss (30%). Light, sound, and visual effects were almost as significant (28%). Women rate both of these parameters equally highly (30% each), while men, in addition to the loss of gravity (29%), are more likely to highlight speed (24%).
From the point of view of the scenarios of the "space" experience, "flight among the stars" turned out to be the most attractive — 35% of respondents chose it. This is followed by weightlessness (28%) and calm floating (16%). At the same time, women are more likely to prefer "flying among the stars" (39%), while men are more likely to choose weightlessness (33%) and more dynamic scenarios.
"The survey results show that Russians' interest in space remains consistently high. Many people would like to experience the feeling of weightlessness, acceleration, and complex motion trajectories. And the Island of Dreams Park is a space where, thanks to modern attractions, such experiences are accessible to a wide audience and at the same time absolutely safe," said Ekaterina Loshkareva, Deputy General Director for Marketing Communications at Islands of Dreams.
And in the summer of 2026, new attractions for fans of "cosmic" sensations will appear in the open part of the park.
