The head of Murom said that norovirus was the cause of the disease in the city
The suspected cause of the disease among residents of Murom, Vladimir region, where an outbreak of intestinal infection has occurred, is norovirus. This was announced by the head of the Murom district Evgeny Rychkov.
"Together with Rospotrebnadzor, together with doctors, with Murom doctors, we studied and conducted tests. Presumably, the cause of this disease is norovirus, but more often it is called intestinal flu," he said in a video posted on the Telegram channel of the government of the Vladimir region.
Rychkov added that disinfection will be carried out in buses: all places of mass touching — handrails and doors - will be treated with special solutions.
The regional government clarifies that 106 cases of acute intestinal infection have been recorded in the district, 50 people have been hospitalized, including 25 children, all of whom are receiving the necessary assistance.
On April 6, Rospotrebnadzor denied information about an outbreak of dirofilariasis from mosquitoes in Russia. It was noted that information had spread in the media that mosquitoes were more likely to carry dangerous worms living in their eyes and lungs, and outbreaks of infections were allegedly recorded in the central regions of Russia due to climate warming.
