Lercek shaved off her hair due to illness

Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lercek, shaved her hair. She announced this on April 9 in her social networks.

Chekalina, who was recently diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer, is currently undergoing chemotherapy. During the treatment, the blogger's hair began to fall out. Today, a video appeared on Lercek's personal blog in which she first cut her long curls, and then completely shaved her head.

During the process, a mother with many children could not hold back her sobs. Her chosen one, Luis Squicciarini, supported Chekalina.

"My brave Lera, I cannot imagine how difficult it is for a woman to lose her hair, her beauty and femininity. The hair loss started after the first chemistry. I saw how difficult it was for you to comb your hair and put it away in big clumps every time. And you made the right decision — to shave your head, so as not to let this process steal your beauty drop by drop," he noted on her Instagram (owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization in Russia).

Then Louis shaved his beloved on his own. By the end of the procedure, Lercek calmed down and smiled, saying that she would wear a hat.

On March 16, the court released Chekalina from house arrest after confirming that she had cancer. In addition, due to her illness, it was allowed to suspend the judicial proceedings in the blogger's criminal case on her withdrawal of more than 250 million rubles in the UAE. According to the Izvestia correspondent from the courtroom, the blogger's children live with her ex-husband Artyom.

The staff of the medical institution assessed the blogger's condition as moderate, her lawyer said. On March 11, Chekalina began treatment at the state Cancer Center. She was subsequently taken to the hospital to begin a course of chemotherapy. The lover and father of her fourth child, Luis Squicciarini, announced on March 8 that she had cancer cells.

On March 31, the Moscow Arbitration Court terminated the bankruptcy proceedings against Lercek in connection with the full repayment of debts owed to the tax authorities.
