A gold miner from the Amur region was fined 1.6 million rubles.

The Hargu gold mining company in the Amur Region has paid a fine of 1.6 million rubles for damage caused to the Bokontia River. The inspection was conducted by the Blagoveshchensk Environmental Prosecutor's Office with specialists from the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.

Experts have established that during the development of the placer gold deposit, the company discharged industrial water into the river, in which the content of pollutants was exceeded.

The prosecutor's office forced the company to bring the technological process in line with the project documentation. She was brought to administrative responsibility under four articles.: "Violation of the terms of the license for the use of mineral resources," "Pollution of water bodies," "Violation of water use rules," and "Damage to the habitat of aquatic biological resources," writes IA PriamurMedia.

Earlier, Alexander Khaminsky, a lawyer and head of the Law Enforcement Center in Moscow and the Moscow Region, said that Russia provides for both administrative fines and criminal liability, up to imprisonment, for illegal felling of trees. According to the expert, illegal logging is considered any cutting or cutting of trees, shrubs and lianas without appropriate permission or in violation of its conditions.
