The Russian government will allocate 4.5 trillion rubles for space development
Russia will allocate about 4.5 trillion rubles for the expansion of the satellite constellation, the creation of its own orbital station, the development of efficient reusable rockets and other priority areas in the space sector. This was announced on April 9 by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation.
"We are rightfully proud that it was Russian scientists and engineers who opened the way for humanity to enter near-Earth space, setting guidelines for many decades to come. Today we face no less difficult tasks. On behalf of the president, a national profile project has been formed and launched this year with a total funding of about 4.5 trillion rubles," Mishustin said, opening the meeting.
He said that the national Space project has been formed in Russia and launched in 2026.
As part of Space Week in Moscow on April 8, the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) hosted the Team of the Future forum, where 270 young specialists discussed the future development of the rocket and space industry. The event was attended by young engineers, designers and managers. The forum program included lectures and master classes from representatives of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Mikaev, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Andrey Fedyaev, who are currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), congratulated the residents of the Russian Federation on the beginning of the first Russian Space Week, which will be held from April 6 to 12. As Fedyaev reminded, throughout the week, Russians will have access to many educational, cultural and memorable events.
