"Queen of the Night" actor Burak Deniz was detained in Istanbul in a drug case
Actor Burak Deniz, who became widely known for his role in the Turkish television series Queen of the Night, was detained in Istanbul during an anti-drug operation. This was reported on April 9 by the Habertürk TV channel with reference to the city prosecutor's office.
"As part of the investigation conducted by Istanbul's Anatolia Chief Prosecutor's Office, arrest warrants were issued for 14 people, including Norm Ender, Burak Deniz, Haftanur Sanjaktutan and Mert Demir; 11 people were detained," the publication says.
It is noted that two suspects managed to escape. Another one is presumably located abroad. The prosecutor's office reported that the houses of all the detainees had been searched.
On April 7, NTV reported that at least nine well-known representatives of show business and the film industry in Turkey were detained in Istanbul during a new anti-drug operation. Among the detainees was actor Ibrahim Celikkol, who became widely known for his roles in the TV series "The House in which you were Born" and "Flight of the Bird."
