Alexander Ovechkin, the captain and striker of the Washington Capitals, failed to score goals in the fourth meeting in a row. In the away match of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, held on April 8, Washington beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0.

Among the winners, goals were scored by Dylan Strome in the 14th minute, Ryan Leonard in the 21st, Martin Fegervari in the 23rd and Cole Hutson in the 57th minute.
