- Medvedev: the truce in the Middle East has been violated, and the Strait of Hormuz is closed again
The parties that agreed on a truce in the Middle East violated the agreement and once again demonstrated the success of force of arms. This was announced on Wednesday, April 8, by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.
Thus, the politician commented on his previous message, in which he expressed doubt about the success of the current ceasefire.
"So here it is: The Strait of Hormuz is closed again. The weapon is working," Medvedev wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Earlier in the day, Medvedev sneered that the prospects for a truce between the United States and Iran remain unclear, but Tehran has already been able to test its "nuclear weapons" in the form of the Strait of Hormuz. He added that the potential of the Strait of Hormuz is inexhaustible.
US President Donald Trump said earlier in the day that he had agreed to suspend strikes on Iran for another two weeks. He explained that the condition for this was the complete unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz.
