The Liberal Democratic Party proposed to raise payments to labor veterans to the subsistence level

LDPR deputies proposed at the federal level to introduce mandatory indexation of payments to labor veterans and raise them to the minimum subsistence level. This initiative was made by party leader Leonid Slutsky in a letter to the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov, the text of the document is available to Izvestia.

"It is unacceptable when labor services to the Motherland are assessed on a geographical basis. An honorary federal title in Kuzbass cannot "cost" three times less than in Moscow or Stavropol. And the amounts of such payments themselves are humiliating everywhere, even the "largest" ones. We in the Liberal Democratic Party are convinced that people who have worked all their lives for the good of the Motherland, literally sacrificed their youth and health, raising the economy, deserve equal respect throughout our country. The state is obliged to provide guarantees of social support, which local bureaucrats will not be able to influence," Slutsky told Izvestia.

According to the letter, the indexation is proposed to be adjusted for inflation. Today, many regions do not provide for mandatory indexation, and the amount of payments to labor veterans varies greatly depending on the region. So, in Moscow it amounts to 1,328 rubles, in the Stavropol Territory — 2,133.61 rubles, and in the Kirov region — 521 rubles.

The focus of the deputies' attention is on supporting members of the SVR, large families and pensioners, combating cyberbullying and training new personnel.

From the resolution "On approval of the coefficient of indexation of payments, allowances and compensations in 2026" in February, it became known that the monthly monetary payment to people with disabilities, combat veterans and Heroes of Labor of the USSR and Russia will be indexed by 5.6%. Thus, people with disabilities of the first group will receive a monthly payment of 6,157.22 rubles, the second group and children with disabilities — 4,397.23 rubles, and the third — 3,520.01 rubles.
