On April 8, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said that there had been a "misunderstanding" between Washington and Tehran, since the American side had not agreed to include Lebanon in the truce.
"I think the Iranians thought that the cease-fire was extending to Lebanon, but it wasn't. We have never made such a promise and never indicated that this would be the case," he said during a conversation with reporters before departing from Hungary.
