UK opened a case on the fact of a two-year-old child falling out of a window in Irkutsk

A criminal case has been opened in Irkutsk over the fall of a two-year-old boy from a window on the fourth floor. This is reported by the SU IC of Russia for the Irkutsk region.

The incident occurred the day before, on April 7, on Sevastopolskaya Street. A child fell out of the window of an apartment located on the fourth floor, the weight of which could not withstand the mosquito net.

According to the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the victim was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. It was established that the 21-year-old boy's mother left her son and his four-year-old sister at home without adult supervision, and she went to another area of the city, writes IA IrkutskMedia.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the incident. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances.

Meanwhile, the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that this is the second case of a child falling out of a window since the beginning of the year. In 2025, 23 similar cases were recorded, in two of them children died, in the rest they received various injuries.

On March 29, a similar incident occurred in Ulan-Ude. A three-year-old boy fell out of the window of an apartment on the fourth floor. According to the Investigative Committee, at the time of the fall, the baby's mother and grandmother, with whom he lives, were sleeping.
