FT reported on a drone attack on an oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia

The East-West (Petroline) oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia, which runs through the entire Arabian Peninsula, was attacked by a drone. This was reported on April 8 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, the strike was carried out on one of the pumping stations on Wednesday afternoon, a few hours after the announcement of a cease-fire between the United States and Iran.

"An eyewitness reported that the facility had been attacked by a drone and that the damage was currently being assessed," the article says.

According to the FT, the pipeline, with a length of about 1.2 thousand km, plays a key role in the export of oil through the Red Sea, especially against the background of the shutdown of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
