According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, 305 public electric charging stations (EPPS) were opened in Russia, resulting in 9,889 units. This was reported on April 8 by RBC with reference to data from the 2Chargers platform.

Fast direct current (DC) stations outnumbered slow alternating current (AC) stations, with a ratio of 51% to 49%. The number of fast charges has reached 5004 units.

At the same time, the number of heavy-duty stations (from 150 kW), which can charge an electric vehicle by 80% in about half an hour, increased by 15.2% to 152 units.

As for the connectors that the stations are equipped with, the share of the Chinese GB/T standard has almost caught up with the European CCS Combo 2. The share of the Japanese CHAdeMO continues to decline.

The Moscow Region (1354 locations) ranks first in terms of the number of public EHS among the regions of Russia, followed by Moscow (1301 units), Krasnodar Territory (492 units), St. Petersburg (438 units) and Krasnoyarsk Territory (305 units).

As reported on April 6, Senator Artem Sheikin, Deputy chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy at the Federation Council, said that traveling by electric car in Russia is difficult due to the lack of charging stations. The network of stations for electric vehicles will expand, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said last summer.
