The number of road accidents in Moscow decreased by 16% in the quarter

According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, 1,430 road accidents were registered in Moscow. This is 16.3% less than in the first three months of last year. The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced this in its channel on MAX on April 8.

In January-March, 36 people died in these accidents in the capital, which is 40% less than in the same period in 2025. The number of wounded during the same period amounted to 1,708 people, a decrease of 12%.

The day before, it became known that by the end of January-February 2026, the number of accidents involving victims on Russian roads decreased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year. According to the Russian Interior Ministry, the number of people killed in road accidents during this period decreased by 13.2%, and the number of injured citizens decreased by 6.3%.
