A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops improved the situation along the front line, defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Monachinovka, Nechvolodovka, Smorodkovka, Kharkiv region, Tatyanovka, Shchurovo, Prishib and Krasny Liman of the DPR. As a result of the actions of Russian servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 200 militants, an M113 armored personnel carrier, four armored combat vehicles, 14 vehicles, an artillery piece, an American AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station, and two ammunition depots.

In addition, the Southern Group of Troops has taken more advantageous lines and positions. The manpower and equipment of four mechanized, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the DPR settlements. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 165 militants.

"The units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line. The manpower and equipment of three mechanized, airmobile, amphibious assault, jaeger brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a marine brigade were defeated...> in areas of settlements <...> of the Donetsk People's Republic, <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to more than 335 servicemen," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, has defeated the fuel, energy and port infrastructure facilities of Ukraine used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, drone launch sites, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down 13 guided aerial bombs and 265 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 132,493 UAVs, 654 anti-aircraft missile systems, 28,750 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,696 multiple rocket launchers, 34,334 field artillery and mortars, 58,872 pieces of special vehicles.
