A teenage girl gave 6.7 million rubles to a fraud courier in Lipetsk
Police in Lipetsk have detained a 19-year-old girl who is suspected of helping telephone fraudsters. She took jewelry and money worth 6.7 million rubles from a 16-year-old girl.
According to GOROD48, the scammers contacted the minor and convinced her that she should declare her mother's savings in order to avoid criminal liability. The girl was sure that she was communicating with law enforcement officials. She showed the scammers the apartment via video link and found a large sum in foreign currency, as well as jewelry. The teenager handed over all the property to the 19-year-old suspect. The girl handed over the jewelry to pawnshops, exchanged some of the currency and transferred the funds to the next courier.
It has been established that the fraudsters deceived the girl herself in March. They asked me to dictate the code from an SMS message, allegedly to receive delivery, and then convinced me that the girl's account on Gosuslugi had allegedly been hacked, and she was facing criminal liability. The suspect agreed to become a "freelance FSB officer" and complete the assignment.
A criminal case has been opened on this fact.
Earlier in Yelets, fraudsters took 770 thousand rubles from a 66-year-old woman. The victim agreed to transfer the funds to "secure" accounts.
