70% of all animation studios in Russia are concentrated in Moscow and more than two thirds of domestic content in this field is produced. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, cited such figures on his MAX channel, congratulating the workers of the sphere on their professional holiday.

Sobyanin stressed that the Russian animation industry is actively developing. "The volume of content is increasing every year, and the revenue of the capital's companies is steadily growing," the head of the capital emphasized. He noted that in 2024, revenue in the sphere reached 8.3 billion rubles.

The Moscow Cluster of Video Games and Animation was opened to support the industry, Sobyanin recalled. Residents have access to city support measures, motion capture and sound recording studios, as well as assistance in promoting their products abroad. Currently, eight companies are registered in the cluster, which are developing more than 20 projects. Their creative products include family adventure cartoons, TV series, and films created with AI technology.

A new creative cluster specializing in video games, animation, and media technologies was opened at the Skolkovo Innovation Center in November last year. As part of the first stage, a data processing center, a motion capture studio for creating realistic graphics, a recording studio, a photogrammetry studio, and a cinema room for viewing and correcting finished materials have begun work in the cluster. The second stage of the creative cluster will be opened in 2026, the mayor said.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
