BMW car sales in Russia have almost doubled

In the first quarter of 2026, 3,873 new BMW cars were registered in Russia. This is 91% more than in the first quarter of last year, when the result was 2,025 cars. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on April 8.

More than half of all BMW cars registered in three months (51.5%) were Chinese-built models. The share of cars produced in Germany was 43.5%. BMW cars from the USA (3.5%) and Russian-built (40 units) were also registered.

The BMW X3 mid—size crossover turned out to be the bestseller in Russia, with 1,255 units registered in the first quarter, 3.5 times more than in the same period last year.

The X5 crossover is in second place (647 units; +77%), followed by the X1 (465 units; +189%), X7 (349 units; +35%) and X6 (293 units; +17%) models.

The day before, it was reported that in the first quarter of 2026, 6914 new Toyota vehicles were registered in Russia. This is more than twice as much (+111%) as in the first quarter of last year. At the same time, sales of Mazda cars in Russia increased almost 14 times in the quarter.
